Licking the Paper; Edible Selby

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

All books should make you feel like you’re someplace different and my new favourite book takes you all over the world on a big triumphant eating adventure. Reading it just reconfirmed a thousand times over that all I really want to do in my life is eat well and travel constantly. And also every page is pretty, gloriously so, making it the ideal thing to float through over breakfast. Though whatever you are eating couldn’t possibly be as delicious or poetic sounding asĀ  pickled cherry blossoms / meringue and rose petal jitterbug cookies / rhubarb compote, almond milk and vinegar sorbet / rose-scented dragonfruit with aromatic rosewater / white asparagus, salty cheese and green strawberries / duck leg confit and sticky caramel / honey orchard black tea / apple-fennel pickled herring / lumpfish roe with a granite of grapefruit and raw crosnes topped with hazelnut milk / olive oil cake.

  1. I would like to encourage you to change this to “all I really want to do in my life is eat well, travel constantly, take photos of it all, and make a killing selling (e)books made out of the photos. When I’m not living as a pirate on the high seas”

Hahaha I’m all about the hardback books but other than that I love that idea even more :)

  2. I appreciate your appreciation of food, the pictures of food and descriptions of food. I just made some chocolate cookies with a touch of sea salt and the olive oil cake. They were different and so special. There is something about a person who reads and appreciates a cookbook that I can really relate to. Keep it up and enjoy it!!! (Keep telling us about it, too).
